The chiller refrigeration cycle is a device used for industrial cooling. It generally consists of a compressor, condenser, evaporator and water pump. The cooled water is sucked in from the water pump, cooled by the circulating water through the condenser, and then evaporated through the evaporator to reduce the cooling water temperature to the required temperature.

The chiller refrigeration cycle is widely used in the field of industrial refrigeration. Especially in plastic processing, food processing, rubber processing, petrochemicals, cosmetics processing and other industries, the application of chiller refrigeration cycle is becoming more and more widespread. It can not only help companies save energy, but also maintain the health and safety of the production environment while maintaining product production quality.

The chiller refrigeration cycle consists of three interrelated systems: refrigerant circulation system, water circulation system, and electrical automatic control system.

Refrigerant circulation system:

The liquid refrigerant in the evaporator absorbs heat from the water and begins to evaporate. The liquid refrigerant also completely evaporates and becomes gaseous, and is sucked and compressed by the compressor. The gaseous refrigerant absorbs heat through the condenser, condenses into liquid, and passes through the thermal expansion valve ( or capillary tube) after throttling, it becomes low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant and enters the evaporator to complete the refrigerant cycle process.

Water circulatory system:

The water circulation system uses a water pump to pump water from the water tank to the equipment that the user needs to cool. The chilled water takes away the heat and the temperature rises, and then returns to the chilled water tank.

Electrical automatic control system:

The electrical automatic control system includes the power supply part and the automatic control part.

The power supply part supplies power to compressors, fans, water pumps, etc. through contactors.

The automatic control part includes thermostat, pressure protection, delayer, relay, overload protection, etc., which are combined to achieve automatic start and stop, protection and other functions according to the water temperature.

Maintenance of chiller refrigeration cycle

The compressor of the chiller is a very critical component in the unit. The quality of the compressor is directly related to the stability of the unit, so it requires regular maintenance.

1. Change lubricating oil

After long-term use of the chiller refrigeration cycle, the quality of the lubricating oil will deteriorate, and the impurities and moisture inside the oil will increase, so the oil quality must be regularly observed and checked. Once a problem is discovered, it should be replaced in time. The grade of lubricant replaced must comply with the technical data.

2. Replace filter dryer

The filter dryer is an important component to ensure normal circulation of refrigerant. Since water and refrigerant are immiscible with each other, if there is moisture in the system, it will greatly affect the operating efficiency of the unit. Therefore, it is very important to keep the inside of the system dry. The filter element inside the dry filter must be replaced regularly.

3. Calibration of safety valve

The condenser and evaporator on the chiller are both pressure vessels. According to regulations, a safety valve must be installed on the high-pressure end of the unit, that is, the condenser body. Once the unit is in an abnormal working environment, the safety valve can automatically release the pressure. To prevent possible harm to the human body caused by high pressure. Therefore, regular calibration of the safety valve is very important for the safety of the entire unit.

4. Cleaning of condenser and evaporator

Since the cooling water of the water-cooled condenser is an open circulation loop, tap water is generally used for circulation through the cooling tower. When the calcium salt and magnesium salt content in the water is large, it is easy to decompose and deposit on the cooling water pipes to form scale, which affects heat transfer. Excessive scaling will also reduce the circulation cross-section of the cooling water, reduce the water volume, and increase the condensation pressure. Therefore, when the quality of the cooling water used is poor, the cooling water pipes should be cleaned at least once a year to remove scale and other dirt in the pipes. There are usually two methods for cleaning condenser water pipes:

Use a specialized pipe cleaning gun to clean the pipes.

Use a special cleaning agent to circulate and rinse, or fill it in cooling water, and then replace the solution after 24 hours until it is clean.
