Air tightness test is an important inspection work in the refrigeration industry. It is not only related to the quality, performance and service life of the product, but also has a direct relationship with production safety.
This article explains the testing methods and requirements for air tightness.
The contents of the air tightness test:
1. The definition and purpose of airtightness:
Air tightness refers to testing to prevent gas from leaking into or outside the product.
2. Contents and classification of air tightness test:
(1) Test the sealing of the compressor;
(2) Test the sealing of the evaporator;
(3) Test the sealing performance of the liquid reservoir (expansion valve);
(4) Check the sealing condition of the connection between the pressure vessel and the pipeline of the air compressor and the welds of the pipeline;
(5) Leak detection of the refrigerant charging system, etc.
3. Requirements for air tightness test:
(1) The pressure resistance strength of the compressor shell should not be 0.15mpa;
(2) There should be no leakage in the compressor suction pipeline;
(3) The vacuum degree of the compressor exhaust pipeline should not be -0.095kpa (vacuum);
(4) The drain outlet of the condenser must not be blocked;
(5) There is no water or dust in the drying filter and it can work normally;
(6) The water level of the liquid reservoir should be within the specified range;
(7) The oil-water separator in the filter dryer is effective;
(8) The amount of liquid in the liquid reservoir does not exceed 90% of its volume;
(9) There must be no leakage at any interface of the piping system.
4. Sample preparation:
Put the parts to be tested into a clean container filled with distilled water and soak them for more than 24 hours. After taking them out, rinse them with clean water until they are neutral. Dry the parts in the oven to constant weight and set aside.
(1) Air compressor:
During the operation of the air compressor, components may become loose or damaged due to vibration, collision, etc. Therefore, strict inspection and repair are required to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
(2) Cooling tower:
The freezing tower will also leak after being used for a period of time. At this time, it needs to be inspected to eliminate hidden faults.
(3) Refrigerant:
The refrigeration oil used in the refrigeration system is a special lubricant – mineral oil grease.
