Refrigerant principle
Refrigerant is the working medium in industrial chillers, also called working fluid or refrigerant. In the chiller refrigeration cycle, the refrigerant continuously exchanges energy with the outside world through the continuous change and flow of its own thermal state, completing heat transfer and achieving the purpose of refrigeration.
Refrigerant properties and performance
Refrigerant is a chemical product, and its properties include the following:
1. Thermodynamic properties: critical parameters, latent heat of vaporization, enthalpy, entropy, pressure, temperature, specific volume, etc.
2. Environmental impact indicators: Ozone depletion potential (ODP), Global Warming Potential (GWP), and atmospheric lifetime index.
3. Physical and chemical properties: electrical insulation, thermal conductivity, viscosity, surface tension, corrosiveness, water solubility, oil solubility, and hydrolyzability.
4. Safety: toxicity, flammability and explosiveness, etc.
The chiller refrigerant cycle mainly passes through three systems: refrigerant circulation system, water circulation system and electrical automatic control system.
1. Refrigerant circulation system
There is liquid refrigerant in the evaporator of an industrial chiller. The refrigerant begins to evaporate after absorbing heat from the water. Finally, there will be a temperature difference between the water and the refrigerant. After the liquid refrigerator is completely evaporated, It turns into a gaseous state, is absorbed by the compressor and then compressed. The gaseous refrigerant then dissipates heat through the condenser. The temperature drops and then turns into a liquid, finally completing the refrigeration cycle.
2. Water circulation system
The main function of the water pump is to pump water from the water tank to the equipment that needs to be cooled. After the water takes away the heat, the temperature will rise, and then returns to the frozen water tank.
3. Electrical automatic control system
Including the automatic control part and power supply part of the industrial chiller system. The automatic control part includes relays, pressure protection, thermostat, pressure protection, thermostat, delayer, overload protection, etc., which together can automatically adjust start or stop according to the water temperature. After the power supply part passes through the contactor, it mainly supplies power to the compressor, water pump and fan light.
