If free carbon is deposited on the exhaust valve, it will not only destroy its tightness, but also increase the flow resistance. If the exfoliated carbon residue is carried out of the compressor, it will block the capillary and the dryer. Acids will corrode the components and electrical insulating materials of the chiller refrigeration system. Moisture can clog the capillaries.​
