Why does the Water Tank in the Chiller Accumulate Various Deposits?
Generally, water-cooled chillers are widely used in industrial production, and during operation, various sediments will slowly accumulate in the water tank. So how did the sediments come from here?
First, from the air. Sediment, dust, microorganisms and their spores are brought into the circulation system with the air, and sometimes insects are also brought into the system, causing blockage of the heat exchanger. When the environment around the cooling tower is polluted, corrosive gases such as hydrogen sulfide, chlorine dioxide and ammonia will react in the unit and indirectly cause deposition;
Second, leakage from the process medium. Water cooler leaks, especially oil leaks or certain organics cause sludge to deposit.
Third, from chemical treatment agents, such as adding zinc salts or phosphate corrosion inhibitors in the water circulation system, there is the formation of zinc or phosphoric acid scale.
Fourth, tap water. Untreated and poor supplementary water will bring sediment, microorganisms, suspended matter, etc. into the chiller. Even well-clarified, filtered, and disinfected supplemental water will have certain turbidity and a small amount of hygienic substances. During the clarification process It is also possible to mix the hydrolyzate of the mixture, aluminum or iron ions in the replenishing water. In addition, the dissolved salts in the make-up water will be carried into the circulating water system regardless of whether it has been pretreated or not.
