Packaged fluid chillers are critical for industrial processes such as plastics, pharmaceutical, commercial printing and transportation manufacturing. Packaged fluid chillers work by removing heat from the process, keeping equipment cool so it can keep running strong.
Here are the four main components of packaged fluid chillers
1. Evaporator
Evaporator Introduction: The three main evaporator types of evaporators are coil, shell and tube, and copper plate. Coil evaporators are the type you see in many home air conditioning units, where warm air flows through a coil along with refrigerant, causing liquid to form and flow into the pot, where it is then drained away. Shell and tube evaporators work by transferring heat between two fluids, one flowing through the tubes and the other flowing through the tubes and through the shell. Plate evaporators, like the brazed pate we use, have rising and falling plates over which a thin film of liquid passes to initiate the evaporation process.
Its function: The basic function of an evaporator is to absorb heat. At the beginning of the cooling phase, the process water or glycol mixture enters the evaporator. Upon arrival, process heating boils the refrigerant liquid, converting it from a low-pressure liquid to a low-pressure gas.
2. Compressor
Compressor Introduction: Vapor compression chillers come in several different types, including scroll, screw, and semi-hermetic compression. Chiller compressors are also available in various capacities.
Its function: The compressor in the chiller is used to compress the low-pressure gas or vapor in the evaporator and convert it into high-pressure gas.
3. Condenser
Introduction to the condenser: The condenser located between the compressor and the expansion valve has both an air-cooling unit and a water-cooling unit, and can be configured in a split configuration. When determining which condenser is best for you, consider your budget, energy efficiency, space, noise, and other environmental factors.
What it does: The chiller condenser is a specialized heat exchanger that uses water or air to cool and condense the high-temperature and high-pressure gas from the compressor and condense it into a liquid.
4.Expansion valve
Introduction to expansion valve: The most common types of expansion valves are thermal expansion valves, thermostatic expansion valves and electronic expansion valves. Although their functions are the same, they work differently.
What it does: An expansion valve or expansion device controls the amount of refrigerant passing between the condenser and evaporator. It can change the flow rate according to changes in cooling load.
